Jeff Miller
Jeff Miller is the Digital Media partner for IDC. His focus is on emerging digital media models, business development, media and marketing services for health care sector as well as early stage Life Science and Technology companies.
From 2003 to 2008, Jeff was Managing Director of Burrill & Company’s Life Sciences Media Group. He launched and managed a number of media publications including The Journal of Life Sciences and The Biotech State of the Industry Report. He also launched led such re-known and respected annual conferences as The Personalized Medicine Meeting, The CEO Biotech Meeting at Laguna Niguel, The India/China Life Sciences Meeting, and The Stem Cell Summit. These annual events enabled Burrill & Company to stay on the cutting edge of the life sciences industry, to maintain ties with the leading companies, CEOs and the most promising new technologies – making Burrill & Company the “best networked” company in the industry.
Prior to Burrill & Company, Jeff spent nearly 20 years in Information Technology media, launching and managing publications, expositions and conferences. Most notable amongst these are The Internet Industry Standard and TheStandard.net, one of the fastest growing publications in the US in the ‘90s, Windows Magazine, PC Magazine, MacUser Magazine, Visual Basic Programmer’s Journal, Java Pro Magazine, Telecom Asia, Wireless Asia and America’s Network. Jeff was also Sales Director of Networld & Interop and Seybold Seminars at Softbank Forums, leading conferences in computer networking and the Internet.
Jeff worked as a media executive with Nielsen Business Media, IDG Publications, CMP Publications, and Ziff-Davis Publishing. Early in his career he was an Account Executive with Ted Bates & Company and Savitt, Tobias & Balk Advertising Agencies in NY. His clients included Colgate Palmolive and brands included Patek Philippe Watches, Bigelow Teas and Monarch Wines. Jeff has an MBA in Marketing Management from Pace University in New York City.
