D. Tang, MD

Dr. Tang is the Medical AI Research Director at Innovation Discovery Center (IDC), where she leads the integration of artificial intelligence into cardiovascular care and broader healthcare applications. With 16 years of clinical and academic expertise as an accomplished cardiologist, Dr. Tang bridges the critical gap between medical practice and AI innovation. Her hands-on approach to developing and implementing AI solutions has established her as a key figure in translating complex medical challenges into practical, market-ready technologies.

At IDC, Dr. Tang works with cross-functional teams developing AI-powered diagnostic and monitoring tools. She played a key role in the development of CardioGuard-AI, a remote monitoring SaaS platform. Dr. Tang's collaborative work with technology partners including Tencent AI Lab and Huawei has resulted in a cloud-based predictive analytics platform that reduced hospital readmissions by 22%, demonstrating her ability to drive measurable healthcare outcomes through AI implementation.

Dr. Tang also serves as Supervising Cardiologist at Henan Medical University, where she leads a 20-member team developing AI tools for remote cardiac monitoring and risk stratification algorithms. Her government-funded research integrating genetic data with AI to predict familial cardiomyopathies has received ¥5M in grant funding, showcasing her ability to secure resources for ambitious healthcare AI initiatives.  As an advisor to the Henan Provincial Health Commission's AI Task Force, Dr. Tang helps shape regulatory standards for AI-powered medical devices.

Prior to her current roles, Dr. Tang was an Attending Interventional Cardiologist at Peking Union Medical College Hospital, where she performed over 1,500 PCI procedures and established a clinical database on post-PCI complications that now serves as a foundation for several AI algorithms. Her technical expertise spans predictive algorithms for acute coronary syndromes, remote monitoring systems for arrhythmia detection, AI-powered echocardiography tools, and genomic risk modeling for precision medicine applications.

Dr. Tang holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Artificial Intelligence from Tsinghua University, an MPH in Epidemiology and MD in Cardiology from Peking University Health Science Center. She maintains academic appointments at Henan Medical University and Tsinghua University Institute of Medical Robotics, and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of AI in Cardiovascular Medicine. Dr. Tang's leadership extends to numerous professional societies, including serving as Vice Chair of the AI in Medicine Committee for the Chinese Medical Association's Cardiovascular Division.
